Happy September everyone! I am excited to announce I will be a judge for Esri and National Geographic’s 2021 ArcGIS StoryMaps Challenge for Restoring Our Ocean. A story has the power to change the world and I am beyond excited to see the innovated connections everyone creates. The challenge is open to high school, college, or anyone between the ages of 18-24 years. Your participation in the challenge will include integrating maps, data, and multimedia content with text to share a narrative on the biggest issues facing our planet, and how your ideas will inspire us all to take action and find solutions to make positive change. I look forward to seeing your submissions and can't wait to be inspired!

I recently sat down to talk about the challenge, and the overall impact stories can have with Chief Scientist of Esri, Dawn Wright. I highly recommend you reading it to learn more about me and Dawn and learn what we are doing to help create positive change for oceans.

Join Nat Geo's #GenGeo global community of young changemakers who are taking action to make our planet sustainable for future generations.
