This No Straw November

This upcoming November is not a typical November. With a looming election and the rise of natural disasters, Jr Ocean Guardians is at a loss of where to start. Traditionally, every November we have partnered with an organization that focuses on bridging the gap between society and the environment. A large majority of our Novembers have been with natural disaster relief fundraising. Currently, Jr Ocean Guardians continues to make the most help behind the scenes - like we have traditionally done. Our priority is to engage people to understand how one item can represent a bigger problem. For us, the single-use straw is the tip of the iceberg for plastic pollution.

This year there will not be a new No Straw November patch. This was an incredibly tough decision and we want to assure you that Jr Ocean Guardians will still continue to make patches in the future. This November will impact a lot of future momentum in a multitude of ways. We wanted to give our own group the ability to refocus and realign before the process of patches. The messaging of No Straw November is viable regardless of a patch. One small change is still change. We are proud of everyone who has taken the pledge to understand the bigger deep rooted issue of plastic pollution beyond personal consumption.

If you are missing any of the previous year's patches - we have a limited availability that can be sent to you at the same cost as a normal patch ($5). To place an order, please email us.

As an incredible collective, we wanted to urge our No Straw November followers to donate your planned patch allowance to causes near and dear to your heart. Our activity book will still be available in English and Spanish. The materials in both link to the issue of plastic pollution for younger audiences.

As always I appreciate the support and thank you for continuing to participate in No Straw November without patch incentive.

With love,

Shelby
